Weekly Folders

Weekly Folders have been updated with Octobers calendar and newsletter.  There is an orange copy stapled to this months book order for you to take out and keep as well as a white one to stay in the folder for quick reference.  Please clean out all of the completed papers when they are sent home.  We have a hard time fitting all of the new projects in if they are not cleaned out.

Letter A

This week we learned about the letter A. We talked about apples, alligators and aliens. I am impressed with how well some of them picked it up.

All of the kids have been so proud to do their best work and take it home to show their families. Please take a few minutes a week to sit down with your kids and go over all of their projects with them so they can continue to take pride in their work.

Week 2

I cant believe week two is already over!  This week we learned about ourselves and each other.  We learned about how everyone is different and special in their own way.  We have also focused on cutting, tracing and following the rules.  I am so impressed with how well everyone is picking up the routine and making new friends.

The first week of folders went pretty well.  I just want to remind every one that folders go home on the last day of the week and are sent back on Monday and Tuesday.  Please feel free to take out all of your childs work to make room for the next weeks work.  The kids get so excited when they get to show off all of the projects they have done, so please take the time to go through all of their work with them.  I also put all important notes in the front of the folder so keep an eye on the things inside.

Next week we will start homework.  I sent home a note explaining it, but here is a little reminder:  Homework will go home on Mon/Tue and will be sent back on Wed/Thurs.  Homework is meant to be a way to work on skills with your child and help them with responsibility.  Please make sure all of the pieces and book is sent back.  If homework becomes more of a problem then a help in your family please let me know and I will stop sending it home.

First Week

Our first week went great! I have loved getting to know your kids and watching them get to know each other. This week we learned how to cut, trace and follow the rules. Thank you all for your patience while we all get to know each other and how to follow the rules.

Don't forget if you haven't brought in a 2x2 picture please send one in, we use them every day in class.

Next week we will get to know each other a little better and practice our skills we learned this week.
